Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of santosgeneralcontractorsct.com and the services provided by Santos General Contractors (“we,” “us” or “our”). By using this website or hiring us, you agree to them. We operate under the laws of the State of Connecticut.

Estimates

Estimates are prepared after we see the space in person or review photos you send. Estimates are free in Naugatuck and the towns around it. Farther out in our area, ask when you text us and we will tell you before we drive. An estimate describes the scope, materials and expected timeline for the work, and is valid for 30 days unless it says otherwise.

Photos, measurements and descriptions you send us are the basis of the estimate. If the conditions we find on site are different from what was shown or described, the scope and the price may need to change, and we will tell you before doing the extra work.

Written agreement

No work starts without a written agreement that you sign, describing the scope, materials, price, payment schedule and approximate start and completion dates. Anything not listed in that agreement is not included.

Changes to the work

If you ask for changes once the work has started, or if hidden conditions such as rot, water damage, mold, old wiring or materials that need testing are found behind walls or floors, we stop, show you what we found and agree on the change in writing before continuing.

Other trades

We do not perform electrical, plumbing, gas or roofing work. When a project requires any of those, it is done by the appropriate trade and we will tell you at the estimate which parts of your job need them. Some framing and painting work may be done by trade partners we work with, as part of the schedule we agree with you.

Permits

Some projects require a building permit from your town. We will tell you at the estimate if we believe your project needs one, and the written agreement will say who is responsible for applying for it.

Materials

If you purchase materials yourself, such as cabinets, tile or flooring, you are responsible for ordering the right quantities and for delays or defects in those products. We will help you check the order against the space before it ships.

Payment

We accept Zelle, Cash, Check. The payment schedule is set in the written agreement. We do not offer financing.

Our workmanship

If something we built or installed is not right because of how we did it, such as a door that sticks, a joint that opens or a cabinet that sits out of level, contact us and we will come back and fix it. This covers our workmanship. It does not cover products that fail on their own, damage caused by misuse, accidents, water, settling of the house or changes made by others after we finish.

Access and site conditions

You agree to give us reasonable access to the work area during the agreed hours, and to keep children and pets away from it. We protect floors and furnishings near the work, but we recommend removing valuables and fragile items from the rooms we are working in.

Disclaimer of warranties

This website and its content are provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, about the website, including its availability or the accuracy of its content. Nothing on this website creates a warranty for any work; the terms of your job are only those in your written agreement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Connecticut law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of this website. Our total liability for any claim related to a project is limited to the amount you paid us for that project.

Some images on this website are stock photography used for illustration. Photos marked “From one of our jobs” are from our own work. The text, logo and design of this website belong to Santos General Contractors or are used with permission.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, and any dispute will be handled in the courts of Connecticut.
